5) Des Foy – He signed with the Knights in 1989 and became the first Englishman to play for the club. His stint was short lived though, he returned back to the north of England the following year.

 

4) Lee Jackson – Although he was at the back end of his career when he came to the Knights, Jackson was still a crafty dummy half and very dangerous when on his game. He was part of the 1997 Grand Final winning team, coming off the bench.

3) Chris Joynt – He only played 7 games for the club in 1995, but they were all quality games. Joynt went on to captain St. Helens to English League & Challenge Cup tittles.

 

2) Brian Carney – This speedy winger came to the club after success with Wigan in the English Super League. In 26 appearances for the Knights, Carney crossed the line 16 times. After one season with Newcastle he returned home to Ireland to pursue a career in Rugby Union.

 

1) Mal Reilly – He didn’t play for the Knights but he will go down as the Knights first ever premiership coach and arguably the club best ever coach.
