Raiders at a glance

Newcastle travel down to Canberra this weekend to play the Raiders for the third time this year.

The Knights defeated Canberra in a trial at Tamworth but in Round 2 at Hunter Stadium the Raiders had their revenge with a 26 to 20 victory.

Canberras record is not that much better than Newcastle with 2 wins from 5. Thye lost at home last weekend to Penrith who are the big improvers this season. However the Raiders have shown enough to say they can be a top 8 side this year. Anthony Milford has carried last seasons form into this year while Josh Papalii has become better since his debut for Australia at last years World Cup. Papalii has been named in the Raiders squad this week after an injury lay off but look for a big game from this bloke. The new halves pairing of Campese and Whighton has taken time to gel but the pair are still dangerous and can cause a threat.

The Raiders at home is always tough for any side but although the Knights got towelled up last year they have won their previous two encounters at Canberra. So Newcastle may pull off an upset down in the Nations capital this weekend.
