Newcastle were too strong for Cronulla-Sutherland flogging the visitors 30 to nil.
Before kick off, fans, players and officials all stood as one and applauded for 30 seconds at Hunter Stadium in honour of Alex McKinnon.
With the majority of possession, Newcastle led 26 nil at half time. Joseph Lulea was the stand out scoring 3 before half time.
Although the game was pretty much all over at half time, it was a different story in the second half with only one try. A brilliant individual try by Tyrone Roberts in the 71st minute. Roberts dummied passed two Sharks defenders and ran 40 meters to the try line.
All the players in the red and blue played well especially Willie Mason who led from the front.
