It has been a tough few weeks for the knights on and off the field. This Sundays clash against Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks will be no different as they are also in search of their first victory in 2014.
Newcastle will be without Darius Boyd for another week which is a blow for the home side. Korbin Sims has been named on the bench as a replacement to Alex McKinnon.
The Sharks have are without Paul Gallen and Luke Lewis but still have an impressive forward pack and bench. Todd Carney is believed to be carrying an injury so hopefully for the Knights he won’t be at his best.
These two sides have met on 42 occasions with Knights holding the better win record with 25 wins, Cronulla-Sutherland have only managed 16 victories over the Knights and they have played 1 draw.
Although this is seen as a bottom of the table clash, this match will far from low standard. Both teams were expected to make the top 8 at the beginning of the year and I think they still will. With a return to Sunday arvo footy to Hunter Stadium I think Newcastle will be too good at home although it will be close, I think the Knights will get their first premiership points for 2014.
